NEON HERO

There's Some Real Creepy Crawlies in the City...

Hayday (Cornelius 'Lee' Hayes) is a thief and criminal-for-hire.
Using his unsettling outfit and looming frame to try and intimidate
people into doing what he wants (or to not attack him),
Hayday is far more bark than bite. He is not to be underestimated
in combat, as he typically wields a scythe and will fight dirty.
In addition to his scythe, he often has a 'hoverbroom' he uses to
get around the city that he's very attached to. He's skilled with
mechanical engineering, pickpocketing, lockpicking, sleight of hand,
and squeezing in and out of places. He's certainly more intelligent
than his apperance and 'country folk' demeanor might lead someone to
believe. He isn't much of a threat, unless you're in his way.

Drosera may appear like a quiet, unassuming young woman, but this is anything but the truth. In reality, she is a highly intelligent and advanced carnivorous plant, with humans as her main prey. Where she came from is a mystery, and how she ended up in the city is another total mystery. She acts charming and kind to lure people to her so she may try and devour them. Drosera has complete control of her real plant body; consisting of twisting roots, vines, leaves, and snapping mouths. She can be a formidable foe for those uninitiated, but being a plant, she can be quite fragile. She can really only manage to fight one or two people at a time, and can be quickly overwhelmed.

Sasu is most advanced robotic lifeform currently known to mankind…made by complete accident for a Robot Death Match Match. This robot barely stands at two feet tall, with an incomplete vocal bank that make communication difficult (for all parties involved). Sasu's only goal is to "win", and no one is completely sure what that means. What it does mean is that Sasu will begin destroying almost anything and everything it sees. Built with a litany of weapons and sharp instruments, this tiny robot can do a lot more damage than one might think. Due to its small size, speed, and arsenal of weapons, Sasu should not be underestimated in the slightest.

Recently fired from his job as a College Football Coach for treating the athletes poorly, Reginald Adams (prefers to go by Reggie) felt deeply lost in life. Once a star athlete himself, Reggie feels as though his athletic career was his entire world. But with his age (and poor habits) catching up to him, his strength is fading. To solve this, Reggie snuck into the school to 'test' an experimental exosuit that increases one's strength through the use of robotic muscles. Now, stronger than ever before, Reggie immediately let the power go to his head. Now with a robotic exoskeleton - with two extra limbs for good measure - Reggie uses his newfound strength to try and get what he wants. The exosuit grants him increased strength, endurance, mobility, and the ability to dive underwater for great periods of time. However, the exosuit cannot make up for Reggie's lack of foresight, lack of planning skills, and general lack of intelligence. These weaknesses can easily be exploited, provide you can not get squashed in the meantime.

The shady, unknowable owner of the Hydra Casino, Snake Eyes is a Mob Boss with a taste for the fine things in life...especially if they don't originally belong to him. He rarely gets involved with crimes himself, usually sending out his men to do his dirty work, often with dice or card motifs. His casino isn't just a great moneymaker for his crimes, but a place to plan said crimes. Snake Eyes has a wide reach in the criminal underbelly; when one head is cut, it almost seems like two more grow in it's place. Not even other villains know his true identity.

If you were to ask her directly, Florence Regina claims that she's simply providing good work for women in the city. In reality, Florence runs an enormous smuggling ring within the shadowy underbelly of the city. She's referred to as the 'Ant Queen' because of her status, her tendency to hire exclusively women, and the sheer ferocity in numbers that she controls. While she comes across superficially as playful, flirtatious, and even sympathetic; underneath the surface she is cruel and calculating, having plenty of blood on her hands. Despite this, she isn't one to act herself, preferring to send in 'her girls' or to outsource labor to thugs and crooks. Despite her proclivity for women, she's not shy about hiring - or flirting with - men, although there is a very good chance they turn up dead shortly after.

Alexander Halvard is a man fueled by revenge. When he was a young tween, a fire broke out in his apartment. The previous Dragonfly (Darius Goode, Our Dragonfly's father) managed to save him, but not his parents from the blaze. This filled him with rage, determining that the Dragonfly was unfit to be a hero. He began training his mind and body, becoming extraordinarily wealthy and strong in the process. Now a grown man, he became Nighthawk, the city's True protector. He plans to claim this title by killing Dragonfly. One issue; the Dragonfly who was unable to save his parents died, and now a different Dragonfly has taken over. Undetered, Nighthawk plans to kill her instead and rule the city with an iron fist. For their own good.

Louis Nolan is a self described 'involuntary celebate', genius, and an otaku. He has a love for all things Japanese, especially manga, anime, and gacha games (preferably with pretty women with huge breasts). He loudly laments how shallow 'femoids' are and how 'chads' have ruined his life. Upon finding a shining bowtie in the very bottom in his order of obscure merch, he discovered the bowtie can allow him to don a new persona; Lovebug. As Lovebug, he can create powerful pheromones that can alter how people think about themselves and others. His favorite targets are happy couples to try and break them up, and young women to try and make them fall in love with him. Aside from causing some chaos (and fallout with relationships), he is extremely weak and has zero fighting capabilities.

Sissi (full name Narcisa Anabel) is an extraordinarily vain woman. Having moved here to try and pursue her acting career, she found very little success. She also noticed that the biggest celebrity wasn't in Hollywood, but soaring through the skies above. With a new goal in mind, Sissi pooled all of her money together (well, her family's money) to buy technology and tools that Dragonfly has. According to Sissi, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, afterall, and surely the city has enough love and adoration to share between the two of them. (Of course, with most of it going to her.)
Unfortunately for the newly dubbed 'Damselfly', she doesn't have the same physical training that Dragonfly went through, nor does she have the same mental or emotional wherewithall to assist those in need. Damselfly, more often than not, is extremely unhelpful and will usually interfere wth rescuing/helping others.

A complete and utter enigma of a man(?). Seemingly stepped out right from the 1950's with a crisp white outfit and a little ice cream cart that he pushes around. There are no pictures of any ice cream on the cart, however, just the blank cart. He also does not refer to himself by anything other than 'The Ice Cream Man', and reports say that no one has ever seen him blink. Upon approaching the Ice Cream Man and asking for an ice cream, two things may happen; he will offer you a plain scoop of vanilla that tastes of 'nothing'. Not vanilla, 'nothing'.
Sometimes, when you approach the Ice cream Man and begin conversing with him, he will not offer you a scoop of ice cream. Instead, brownish-black tendrils coated with eyes and teeth will burst from the cart and begin attempting to drag you - and anyone else nearby - inside. The tendrils seem to be never ending, and physically speaking, should not be able to fit inside the cart. Ice Cream Man will lovingly refer to this horrifying entity as his wife. The Ice Cream Man himself is harmless, having never raised a hand, even to defend himself. But he is never without his extremely dangerous wife. After the two are defeated in combat - or if the wife has consumed enough - the two will vanish without a trace. It is unknown where they came from, where they go to, and some people theorize that the Ice Cream Man is merely part of the monster within the cart, and not a separate entity.
Regardless, these two are incredibly dangerous and should NEVER be approached.

Ex-Professor Thomas Rivers is, above all else, a hypocrite. He is, secondly, an incredibly stubborn man who believes himself to always be right. Once a professor at a well respected college, Rivers was fired for harassment, flirting with his young students, and preaching his ideals on veganism and animal rights.
Professor Rivers despises zoos, aquariums, and animal rehabilitation centers, as he believes they should not exist (no matter how good and ethical they may be). He offers no solution for this 'problem', and instead will harass these facilities, the people who run them, and the people who support them.
While Rivers himself isn't formidable, his skills with genetic modification and biology is nothing to sneer at. For a man with such a passion for animal rights, he feels no shame in using them for his own gain.
he's not even vegan.

An enormous and hyperintelligent Cicada that rises with the cicada broods every decade or so, give or take. It believes that insects (cicadas especially) are the next to inherit the Earth, although whether or not it has always thought this, or if this line of thinking is due to the mold 'crown' on its head is unknown. It can control massive swarms of cicadas, and it plans to level the city for the next brood cycle. It also seems keen on taking a Human "Wife" to possibly speed up the process of taking over the World, but it's difficult to say how that would help, or why it would want such things.

It's unknown if Catfish is a mutated human or a mutated catfish. It's also unknown as to what caused him to become what he is today. Catfish is an extremely manipulative being. Pair this with his uncanny ability to perfectly mimic someone's voice, which only makes his ability to manipulate someone even stronger.
Catfish believes, just by virtue of having such abilities, that he deserves better than everyone else. And he will lie and cheat and manipulate whoever and whatever possible to attain such goals. Of course, he's not below throwing some punches if need be.

Moira Morpho is a powerful reality bender, even at the very young age of five. It's been recorded that her powers appeared at an even younger age, but that these abilities have only grown stronger - and more dangerous - with time. She is usually kept asleep by her parents via medical means, as losing consciousness will undo all of the changes she may have made to reality. If left unchecked and unsupervised, Moria will cause untold amounts of chaos, changing the world into her own personal playground and all that reside in it into toys. But even so, her actions are rarely malicious, merely the thoughts of a child. Of course, this also means she's prone to fits, tantrums, and other childish acts that only make her 'playtime' more dangerous. Preventing such an event is much easier than fixing one.

Patience Winters has a knack for causing distress, something she takes a great pleasure in. Her specialty is sowing seeds of discourse among internet forums and hacking into computers and systems to create issues. Using her internet persona, "W3B5", She loves to lay 'webs' for unfortunate internet goers to stumble upon and become trapped. This can range from endless Internet arguments, to having their computers bricked, and more. She has recently garnered a sick enjoyment in hacking into the traffic lights, waiting for the perfect moment, and changing them to cause major accidents. She revels in creating misery in others, and Dragonfly hypothesizes this is a way of lashing out at the world, as Patience suffers from intense agoraphobia. Regardless of why, Patience will continue to cause problems unless stopped.

Youth is a common obsession for the general populace, and Claudia Collins is no exception. Being the CEO of both a pharmaceutical company and a beauty product manufacturer has granted her obscene wealth, but as she grows older she feels as though her youth and beauty are slipping through her fingers. She's tried every remedy in the book, and has now begun taking drastic measures.
Working in the shadows as The Butterfly, Claudia will kidnap young women and take them back to her place of business. There, in the basement below, she will begin draining their blood with the best medical equipment on the market. She will use their blood in a manner of ways to extend her own youth; drinks, baths, and her own makeup. Her charming personality and colorful outfits are merely a disguise for her unending cruelty on those around her.

Corbin Cortez believes himself to be better than everyone around him. And he's fully prepared to crush, squash, and step on anyone and anything to get what he wants. He idolizes crows, their intelligence and mob mentality is what inspired him to form his own gang; The Flock. But unlike crows, he sees himself at the very top of the pecking order, under the name 'Corvus'.
Corbin will send in his men before even thinking of getting his hands dirty, as a show of confidence and bravado. But he's absolutely willing to start swinging, his spiked bat isn't for show. His ego can easily be provoked with the slightest of comments, showing that deep down, he may be incredibly insecure…

A brilliant scientist, Vincent Ryder sought to create a method to eliminate "pests", such as mosquitos, ticks, fleas, and various other smaller parasitic creatures. His grim work was effective, creating a substance that could cause sickness within insects upon touch, causing them to rot from the inside out. It was very effective…too effective.. During a late night, there was an accident in the lab, and Vincent was completely coated by this substance.
Vincent is not longer recognizable as human. And now, wherever he goes, all plant and animal life with grow weak, sick, and wither away…including people. He desperately wishes to cure his condition, but he finds this difficult, with how he kills everything he touches.

[OOC: I'm still working on this guy, tempted to cut them all together, but I have a nice even number of guys here with Jumping Spider included. Either way, check back later!]

it was a terrible thing that happened.
