What is Shiny Hunting?
Starting in Gold, Silver, and Crystal (Generation 2), Pokemon had a miniscule chance to have a different color palette! The most common name for these Pokémon are "Shiny Pokémon! (They might also be referred to as "specially colored Pokémon" in-game.) These different color palettes can range from subtle to extreme, but every single one is incredibly rare! With an incredibly 1/8192 chance from Generation 2 through 5, being slightly increased to 1/4096 onwards, and with even higher odds locked behind certain methods to obtain them, called "Method Hunts". Hunting them requires patience, knowledge, a lot of time to kill, and a LOT of good luck!
I believe it started when I heard about SOS Chaining in Sun and Moon for the very first time (More information in BOX 7!), so 17 year old me sat down and eventually got my very first shiny Pokemon: Zubat! (Yes, really!)
I've been collecting not only Pokemon Games (which is an endeavor in itself) but I've been hunting Shiny Pokemon for years! This Box will not only document the games I have, but any Shiny Pokémon as well! All games and Shinies will be organized via their respective boxes, which I will do my best to update semi-frequently!
